The ARM Real Estate business was set up in 2006 to leverage on ARM's 15 years of advisory and development experience in real estate as well as capitalize on current market opportunities. The business aims to provide industry leadership in the areas of real estate financing, development and fund management. The core areas of our business are Financial Advisory and Fund Raising, Fund Management and Special Projects: Financial Advisory and Fund Raising: The primary focus of this unit is to provide real estate financial advisory and fund raising services to clients. This involves transaction structuring, real estate professional consultancy and the sourcing of debt and equity financing for projects. Our processes are geared towards providing, efficient, reliable and professional services. Fund Management: As part of the Fund Management service, the unit manages ARM Properties Plc., which is a property Investment Company whose primary objective is to make focused investments in the Nigerian Real Estate sector. The company is managed by ARM Real Estate, but structurally independent with its own board. ARM Properties recently raised N5.675 billion through a private placement exercise, and plans to list on the Nigerian Stock Exchange shortly. ARM Properties is currently invested in 2 key projects:
Special Projects: We undertake medium to large scale real estate development projects spanning residential, commercial and retail sectors, with a goal to taking advantage of the developing organised retail real estate sector. These projects are either originated internally as proprietary projects or introduced to ARM by external project sponsors as possible joint ventures. One of the tasks of the unit is to create real estate products for our Asset Management clients and portfolios. Real Estate Research: The real estate business is guided by primary research. Our philosophy is to research the local real estate market to understand trends and market fundamentals in order to anticipate changes in the market. This market intelligence is critical to our keeping ahead of the market, remaining competitive and elevating the quality of our real estate investment decision making.
